My friends swear that the way to make it rain in San Luis is to wash your car. So let’s all get a car wash and end this drought.

Here are some tips to prepare your car for the wet weather.

  1. Windshield Wiper Blades: Check that they are in good condition and they don’t leave streaks. Depending on how often the windshield wipers are used and how much exposure they get, it is recommended the blades be replaced every 6-12 months.
  2. Fill Windshield Washer Fluid: Make sure you have enough fluid in the reservoir – it should be at least half full.

Place a penny with Lincoln’s head in between the grooves of the tire, if his head is covered by the tread then the tires are okay (check inner and outer grooves around circumference of all tires), if not, you probably need new ones.
  4. Tire Air Pressure: Check air pressure when tires are cold, either before driving or at least 3 hours after driving. Depending on the recommended psi for your tires, use the gauge to decide if you need to add, let out or leave the air in your tires as is.
